MRS. K Soon Choi, Founder & Director
Mrs. Choi (MA, English Literature) is the Founder and Principal of the School. Trained at the St. Nicholas Montessori Teacher Training College, she has been a Montessori teacher for nearly 30 years in the Edison-Metuchen area, with a strong reputation for excellence. Mrs. Choi also leads the music education program within the school with joy and grace. She is a devoted Christian with ample love that she shares with children.
MRs. Crisol-Iris Lantz, Head Teacher for Kindergarten & 1st Grade
Ms. Lantz graduated from Kean University with a BA in Early Childhood and Fine Arts, and had been working in the urban public school setting for 8 years, nurturing and educating children from preschool to fifth grade, including those with special needs. She engages and encourages for children with the same care and expectation she has for her own two young girls. Ms. Lantz knows the importance of early childhood education and was inspired to attain a Montessori certification after sending her daughters to a Montessori school. Her passion is in facilitating an engaging, creative, and nurturing environment for young children. In addition to the Kindergarten & 1st grade classroom, Ms. Lantz also directs DCM’s Spanish language enrichment and Summer STEAM programs.
MRs. Monique Derflinger, Head Teacher for Stepping Stone
Ms. Monique been working as an Infant-Toddler program headteacher for nearly 20 years. She was trained at PCTE (Montessori Princeton Center for Teacher Education). For the past 25 years Monique has taken care of many young children including her own four grown up children and her grand daughter. She grew up in France where she taught children with special needs and traveled in different countries singing in an international choir.
MRs. Shalini Varma, Head Teacher for Primary & Kindergarten
Ms. Shalini Varma has a post graduate in business management and was drawn to the Montessori method of education while raising her two Montessori-educated children. She was so fascinated by this method that she decided to undergo training and was awarded credential for early childhood from Princeton Center of Teacher Education (PCTE). She has been teaching ever since for the past 6 yrs. She has immense faith in Dr. Montessori's method of education which helps a child build independence, concentration and have an orderly mind. She believes that each child is special and respects the spirit of the child. She strongly believes that given the right environment children can flourish to their fullest potential. She has a gentle and extremely patient disposition towards the children and gives them utmost love and care.
MRs. Prajakta Tilak, Head Teacher for Primary & Kindergarten
Ms. Prajakta has earned her Early Childhood Montessori Certification from Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE). She strongly believes in the Montessori philosophy and as a parent she has experienced it's positive effect in her child's cognitive development too. She feels she can connect to the children and communicate with them in a way that they feel comfortable. Ms. Prajakta has a good knowledge of what can be a good children literature and how we can transform the personalities through effective book reading and storytelling. She is also deeply interested in the art of storytelling too.
Ms. Lucy Yun, Assistant Teacher & Aftercare teacher
Ms. Lucy graduated from Middlesex County College with a Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. She first experienced the Montessori method through an internship at Discovery CM and fell in love with the children and program. Prior to her work in Early Childhood, Ms Lucy has lived in China for 2 years as a foreign student from South Korea, learning about Chinese culture, history, and language studies.

MRs. Jyothi Bengeri, Stepping Stone Assistant Teacher
Sujyothi Bengeri is a certified Montessori teacher from St. Nicholas Montessori Teacher Training College, and also holds a BS degree in science from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. She has excellent knowledge in Montessori principles as well a methods of teaching. She is interested in drawing, painting, and interior designing. She is also passionate about teaching, organizing, and creating innovative activities for students..
MRs. Sookyung Hwang, Stepping Stone Assistant Teacher
MRs. Hanna Meyer, Bible Teacher
Ms. Hanna received a graduate degree in history education from Pensacola Christian college. She is initially from Dominican Republic and teaches the Bible.
Mr. Michael Choi, Administrator
Mr. Michael has studied Bible Studies at Word of Life Bible Institute and History & Philosophy at the Liberty University. He has served as Administrator for DCM since 2012 and continues to support the school while enjoying various international travels and adventures around the world, exercising his love of learning new languages - including Korean, Japanese, and more.
As we grow, we expect to invite more excellent teachers to join our team. We are always on the look out for talented and motivated teachers with good faith who are trained in the Montessori method. Specific positions will be posted under Jobs, however we also review resumes on a rolling basis.

Ms Maureen Cranley, Enrichment Arts
Ms. Maureen leads an Enrichment Arts program within our After-care with Classical Artist studies.
The Fall 2019 program will be 10 weeks long featuring the works and styles of American Artists.
Ms Jenny Chien, Keyboard & Piano
Ms. Jenny leads a wonderful Keyboard lessons program within our After-care.
Ms Barbara Lambiase, MA, CCC
Ms. Barbara consults for our school supporting our students with speech and language therapy needs within the school.
